BACKGROUND

The hip-hop and R&B singer, real name is Akhimien Diamond David. A native of Esan west Local Government Area Edo State. I am from the Royal Family of Akhimien Onuje of Ekpoma. Am also 5.11ft tall with slim body structure, I came from a polygamous family and due to the fact that am the only child of my mother and very precious too, she named me diamond, I was born on May 5th in delta state Nigeria, although my dad and mum are separated, so I grew up with my mother here in Lagos. I achieved my primary and some part of secondary Educations at Saint Finbarrs collages Akoka Bariga. However, later moved to Benin to complete my schooling at Loyola secondary school Benin.

JOURNEY INTO MUSIC

It all started years back when I was still in secondary school, at that time I use to do miming of other great musicians like R.Kelly, Michael Jackson, and Lionel Richie etc. During break hours some of my class mate always like to sit near me to listen to my music, then a time came that I was watching one of R.Kelly’s musical Video titled (Ignition), the video was lovely, then I said to my self, how can I be miming other peoples songs and I can’t write mine, maybe I should I try and be creative on my own because they are human like me. Then I started writing and singing my own songs and the opinion of people that listen to it was very encouraging for me to continue in other wards I can say that I was motivated into music by R.kelly.

DO YOU HAVE ANOTHER TALENT APART FROM MSUIC?

Yes I do. That’s why most of my friend call’s me diamond creativity. Because I love creative things, I love surprising people with what I create, I do art sketching, paintings, sculpture and in addition computer graphics, I designed most of my cd cover, posters and the treatment of my pictures.

YOUR MUSIC HAS A LOT TO DO WITH LOVE.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU Like I said before music is not just all about singing, because it’s goes a long way. Like i said earlier on, music should be something that can relief you off your worries, make you forget about your problems, because it deals with the heart, if the heart is restless you can’t focus, so in other wards you need a cool and gentle music with good melody that can make you relax, and what is this kind of music am talking about? Love songs, philosophy songs, country songs etc. These kinds of music are very cool and good to calm one soul, so as for me I would like my style of music to be those kinds I mentioned, that’s why I chose the style am doing today.

Yes I do. I have two of my songs on air titled (i need you & Sade mi)

ROLE MODELS

Well, when it comes to role models, I can’t say that I have just one because I listen to a lot music, but there are some particular one that are very inspiring, that is, song that moves the spirit of you, well I can say that when it comes to the home scene, I get inspired by faze, 2face, Darey etc international scene: I like artiste like Akon, Lionel Richie, Neyo, Luda Chris Etc SHOW REEL I can proudly say that am not just an upcoming artiste but a star in the making. When it comes to my show reel in entertainment, I have performed at major events like: * 2007 Sony Ericson campus storm audition held at white house and planet one. * indomie noodles 120kg pack lunch, * The Lagos state beach carnival (held at tarkwa bay beach). * Lola shon fashion fusion (phase iii). * koffi and Owen gee album lunch (Abinibility / two black birds) * Brim o album lunch (brim stone) * And in 2009 I also won the GET STREETJAMZ TALENT HUNT COMPETITION. ,,,,,,,

 

WHAT DO U THINK ABOUT THE NIGERIAN MUSIC

Music like they do say relief one’s stress. Music in Nigeria is growing very fast that we are even challenging the international music, the artiste are really trying to make things work out by putting together good lyrics that can keep one going. Because to me I see music as a gift of God that really helps to calm the heart, but there is some thing that I would like some of our artiste to do which is, try as much to arrange their lyrics don’t be in haste to get into the market that is making your songs and lyrics something one can learn from. I might not want a large amount of text on my home page if I want to guide visitors toward my other pages. Instead of text, I can add photos or interesting links. One of the first things I would want to do is choose a template that reflects what my site is all about. Colors and themes are a great way to reinforce the message and purpose of my site.

Even if I don't put much text on my home page, it's a good idea to include hidden tools that will help me promote my site, so people other than my friends and family actually see it. For example, I could add meta tags, which are hidden codes that allow search engines to find my site. I could also install stats and a counter so I know how many people are visiting. If not many are visiting, submitting my site to search engines will guide more traffic to my site.
